In a recent study published in December in the Journal of the American Medical Association, looked at 240 cases. Subjects were divided into four groups for different treatments: a complete course of amoxicillin for a week with 400 units of steroids Spray for 10 days, just spray, amoxicillin, or just simply a placebo. The treatment was no better than placebo, finding shown in studies of children. The reason is not entirely clear, but researchers suspect that antibiotics may not be very good at reaching the sinuses. Experts recommend other approaches, such as ibuprofen, accepting, inhaling steam or using salt water to rinse the nasal cavity. Antibiotics and steroid sprays had to treat sinus infections. .
